The passing of another Nollywood veteran actor, Ganiyu Oyeyemi, fondly remembered as Ogunjimi has plunged the Nigerian movie industry into mourning once more.

Ogunjimi, renowned for his portrayals of herbalist characters, was a prominent figure in the Yoruba Nollywood sector during the mid-90s to early 2000s.
Reports of his passing emerged on social media on Friday, April 26, 2024.

The tragic news was announced by his younger colleague, Kunle Afod, in a post on his Instagram page.
“We tried our best but God loves you more.
“May his soul rest in peace. Baba Ogunjinmi, RIP, Sun re oooo,” Afod wrote as he mourned the veteran actor.
As of the time of filing this report, neither the cause of Ogunjimi’s death nor the exact date of his passing has been confirmed.
Ogunjinmi’s funeral arrangements are yet to be released by his family.
