Boateng, often hailed as the ‘Queen of Snapchat,’ organized an informal sales event named the Porials Pitch near the Accra Mall, causing significant traffic congestion along the Achimota to Accra Mall section of the N1 Highway.

An investigative reporter, Akwasi Koranteng, revealed that many of the products sold at the fair lacked proper registration with relevant state agencies.

Acting on this information, the police, in collaboration with the Pharmacy Council of Ghana and the Food and Drugs Authority (FDA), arrested around a dozen organizers.

Initially among those detained, Boateng managed to evade capture when the police went to apprehend other key figures involved in the event.

The arrested individuals were taken to the Accra Central Police Station, where they provided statements before being released with instructions to report back later.

They are expected to face charges for selling unapproved products and advertising items not sanctioned by the FDA, offenses under the Health Professionals Regulatory Bodies Act, 2013, and FDA regulations on unregistered product advertising, respectively.

Despite the potential legal repercussions, videos of the event circulated widely on social media, with Boateng receiving praise for the significant turnout.
