Asante Kotoko achieved their first victory in eight games by triumphing over Samartex at the Baba Yara Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

Enoch Morrison netted from the penalty mark for the Porcupine Warriors as they notched a 1-0 victory on matchday 27 of the Ghana Premier League.
Kotoko entered the match without any victories in their previous seven games, suffering six defeats and managing just one draw.
Samartex, conversely, had held a five-point advantage at the summit of the table before the match.
Prosper Narteh Ogum’s team began the game with a stronger presence and crafted several opportunities, yet they failed to capitalize on them.

The league leaders emerged as the stronger side in the second half, applying pressure on Kotoko, but they also struggled to convert their opportunities.
Nevertheless, the home team received a penalty in the 56th minute.
Morrison successfully converted the penalty, placing Kotoko in control of the game.
Despite the Timber Giants’ late surge, they couldn’t equalize, ultimately granting Kotoko all three points.
As a result, Kotoko climbed back to the 10th position on the league table with five games remaining to play.
