In a statement released on April 18 by the General Secretary of the NDC, Fifi Fiavi Kwetey, the party expressed, “We trust that by working together with the General Secretary of the NDC and the minority caucus in parliament, you will conduct a comprehensive inquiry into the issue to resolve it and guarantee an unbiased, just, and transparent election in December 2024.”
The party revealed that following concerns raised by the minority leader, Cassiel Ato Forson, regarding missing BVDs and BVR Kits in parliament, which garnered public and social media attention, the Functional Executive Committee (FEC) of the NDC opted to further investigate the matter.

“FEC’s involvement in the fray and the subsequent admission by the EC Chairperson at the Inter-Party Advisory Committee (IPAC) meeting on the 9th of April 2024 that the biometric equipment was indeed stolen, culminated in a major press conference by the Party on the 15th of April 2024,” the NDC said.

The statement further mentioned that on April 16, the FEC extensively deliberated on the potential implications of the missing equipment for the upcoming December elections.
“At its meeting on the 16th of April 2024, FEC again deliberated extensively on the missing equipment, especially on the effect this could have on the December general elections,” it stated.
The NDC stated that the party’s FEC consequently reached a consensus to forward the issue to the esteemed office of the speaker and respectfully seek his assistance in conducting a thorough investigation into the matter.
“FEC is also ready to provide a technical IT Team to assist in the investigation,” it added.
