Germany’s national football team has received a boost as their manager, Julian Nagelsmann, has pledged his future to the squad.

The 36-year-old tactician took the reins in September 2023, following Hansi Flick’s tenure. Despite a brief spell, Nagelsmann has already clinched three victories in six matches.
Nagelsmann’s decision to extend his contract showcases his deep commitment to coaching the national squad. “This is a heartfelt decision. It’s a tremendous honor to lead the national team,” he expressed.
His initial contract was slated to end in July, post the Euro 2024 tournament, which Germany is hosting. However, Nagelsmann’s sights are now set beyond the European Championship, aiming for the 2026 World Cup.
Germany’s recent showings in major competitions have been disappointing, with early exits in the last two World Cups and Euro 2020.

The upcoming challenge for the team is Euro 2024, where they find themselves grouped with Scotland, Hungary, and Switzerland.
Nagelsmann’s commitment provides stability for the German Football Association (DFB) and the national team, according to DFB President Bernd Neuendorf, who sees it as a strong statement amidst interest from top European clubs.
While Nagelsmann gears up for the Euros, Bayern Munich faces a challenging season, missing out on the German Cup and losing the Bundesliga title to Bayer Leverkusen.
Their only hope lies in the UEFA Champions League, where they’ve reached the semifinals, set to clash against Real Madrid in pursuit of silverware.
Initial rumors linked Bayern with Leverkusen’s Xabi Alonso, but the latter opted to extend his stay with the new champions.
