Emmanuel Sebeh, the accused, denied the offence and is scheduled to appear in court again on May 2, 2024.

According to Police Chief Inspector Christian Amartey, who presented the case to the court presided over by Madam Dora Nsiah Jackson, the complainant, Madam Gifty Afriyie, is a trader, while Sebeh resides in Paa near Trede.

The complainant owned a cement shop, where Sebeh, the accused, lived. In December 2023, Sebeh approached Afriyie, requesting employment as a sales boy in her cement shop.

Afriyie agreed and entrusted Sebeh with 300 bags of cement to sell at GH¢78.00 each, paying him monthly.

However, on March 8, 2024, when Afriyie went to the shop to take stock, she discovered that not a single bag of cement remained.

Upon inquiry, Sebeh claimed that some workers had taken 222 bags of cement on credit, but he couldn’t provide any details about the supposed creditors or their whereabouts.

The complainant reported the incident to the Trede Police, leading to Sebeh’s arrest and subsequent charge.

In his caution statement, Sebeh admitted to the offence. Following an investigation, he was brought before the court to face charges.
