As per reports, the former Ireland player will soon travel to Dublin for talks concerning the position with the Football Association of Ireland (FAI).
Initially eyed for the role after Stephen Kenny’s departure in November of last year, Hughton couldn’t accept the offer then due to his ongoing duties coaching Ghana.

However, circumstances have shifted, rendering him available for reconsideration now.
Despite the FAI’s initial intention to unveil a new appointment this week, those plans encountered a delay, with Hughton being the latest candidate approached by the association.
Following his expression of interest in the position, discussions between Hughton and the FAI commenced, triggering widespread speculation about the possibility of his appointment.
