In the recent child marriage case that garnered nationwide attention, Naa Okromo, the 15-year-old girl at the centre of the controversy, is set to be reunited with her family today following a directive by the Attorney General.

This decision comes after thorough psychological and medical evaluations conducted on Naa Okromo, which confirmed that she is not pregnant. The revelation was made public by Dakoa Newman, the Minister Designate for Gender, Children, and Social Protection, during a press conference.

Ms. Newman expressed relief at the outcome of the evaluations, stating that the well-being of Naa Okromo is of paramount importance. She stressed that the government is committed to ensuring the protection and welfare of children, especially in cases involving potential exploitation and abuse.
According to Ms. Newman, Naa Okromo will be released to her parents under certain conditions. The family will be required to sign a bond, affirming their commitment to safeguarding the rights and welfare of their daughter.
