Five-Year-Old Girl Swept Away by Floodwaters in Koforidua on Her Birthday

Five-year-old Richlove Abena Adobea was swept away by floodwaters in Nsukwao, Koforidua, on her birthday, according to reports.

The tragic incident occurred around 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 16, 2024, amid heavy rains in the area.

It remains uncertain whether the young girl survived the ordeal.

Richlove was visiting her grandmother’s home during the school vacation period. While there, she was asked to help collect rainwater by placing buckets outside.

However, she joined three other children to play in the rain, and tragically, she fell into a gutter and was swept away by the floodwaters.

Upon learning of the incident, the family alerted officials from the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO), who are currently conducting a search operation for the missing girl.

Adding to the heartbreak, it was revealed that the day of the incident was Richlove’s birthday, making the loss even more devastating for her family.
