Jumoke Aderounmu’s Brother Dismisses Illness Rumors, Shares Actual Details of Her Passing

Late Nollywood actress Jumoke Aderounmu is reported to have passed away peacefully in her sleep, contrary to earlier reports of her being sick.

In an interview with Punch, her younger brother Adeola revealed this, mentioning that Jumoke had plans to relocate to the United Kingdom before her passing.

He elaborated that she desired to relocate due to a dearth of movie roles available to her in Nigeria.

Regarding the public call-out of Nollywood actress and filmmaker Funke Akindele for not extending help during her time of need, Adeola clarified that he doesn’t have Funke’s contact details. Instead, Jumoke reached out through another actress, Paschaline Alex.

“I did not reach out to her (Funke), because I don’t have her phone number, and I am not close to her. But, my sister had her number, and even sent another actress, Paschaline Alex to her, all to no avail.

“She (Funke) stopped calling her for jobs. Jumoke tried to know why, because she wanted to retrace her steps if she had committed any offence.

“She was an introvert, and usually kept to herself. She was actually not sick. She just died in her sleep,” he said.
