The Electoral Commission (EC) has scheduled the by-election for April 30, 2024.

The 45-year-old Member of Parliament passed away after a brief illness, leaving behind a wife and six children.

No other political party has indicated interest in the by-election as of yet. The National Democratic Congress has mentioned that it is still deliberating whether to participate in the by-election.
