Nigerian chess master, Tunde Onakoya, is gearing up to challenge the Guinness World Record for the longest chess marathon in the bustling heart of New York City’s Times Square.

The founder of Chess in Slums Africa has set his sights on engaging in a 58-hour-long chess session, aiming to achieve this remarkable feat without a single defeat.
His ambitious endeavor is driven by a deep-seated mission to uplift underprivileged children across Africa.
“Doing this for the dreams of millions of children across Africa without access to education,” he affirmed.

Currently in New York, Tunde Onakoya has been actively participating in chess events, clubs, and even playing amidst the vibrant activity of Times Square, showcasing his skills and securing victories.
“On the 17th of April 2024, I will attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the longest Chess marathon in the heart of Times Square New York City for 58 hours without losing a game,” he announced.
His announcement has garnered widespread support from his supporters and fellow Nigerians, who are rallying behind him as he prepares for this monumental challenge.
Notably, Tunde previously represented his country with pride in a challenge against 10 players simultaneously in Germany, where he emerged victorious in every game without a single defeat.
