Nine police officers sustained injuries in an accident on the Nandom-Hamile highway in the Upper West Region during an operation.

The injured officers include Chief Inspector Fatawu Jangu, Constable Sandra Abdul-Rahman, Constable Rose Amu, and General Constables Felix Amponsah, Emmanuel Asare, Emmanuel Oppong, Christian Antwi, and Ezra Kwaku Lamedeku.
According to reports, the incident occurred when the police vehicle, driven by Chief Inspector Jangu, was responding to a distress call regarding a potential road blockade by a group involved in the Dagaaba/Sissala conflict in Lambussie.

While patrolling to prevent the road blockade, the team discovered that the information was inaccurate. On their return journey near Bu, close to Nandom, the vehicle was involved in the accident.
The injured officers are currently receiving treatment at the Nandom Hospital, and the accident vehicle has been taken to the Nandom Police station.
This incident marks the third time in a month that police officers have been involved in accidents while on duty, with one previous incident resulting in a fatality.
