Renowned Seventh-Day Adventist singer and composer, Akuamoah Osei Boateng, has passed away after a brief illness.

The revered musician breathed his last at the Accident and Emergency Centre of the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital on Saturday, April 6, 2024, following a week-long admission.
Confirming his demise, Boateng’s brother and head of the Aduana family of Oguaa, Mark Kwabena Adu Agyei, shared the sad news with Myjoyonline.com.
Boateng, famous for his iconic compositions like ‘Yesu Ka Woho’ and ‘Ɔkwantufo’, enjoyed a prolific music career spanning over five decades.
Throughout his journey, he not only left an indelible mark on the music industry but also nurtured and mentored numerous talents within and beyond the SDA Church.

Born to Madam Adwoa Oforiwaa and Opanin Akwasi Kwayie in Senkyi and Oguaa, respectively, near Effiduase in the Ashanti region, Boateng initially hailed from a Muslim family but embraced the Seventh-Day Adventist faith in his youth.
Throughout his life, Boateng seamlessly blended his passion for music with his career as a trained teacher, leaving an enduring legacy that resonates deeply within the SDA Church, among his admirers, and within his immediate family.
