Krachi East MCE, Bernard Aborkugya Mensah has died. His sudden demise has left the community in shock and mourning. The tragic incident occurred while Mr. Mensah was delivering a matriculation speech at the Dambai College of Education on Friday morning.

According to reports from the Ghana News Agency, Mr. Mensah collapsed during his speech and was immediately rushed to the Dambai Health Centre for emergency medical attention. Despite efforts to stabilize his condition, he was later transferred to the WoraWora Government Hospital for further treatment. He was pronounced dead upon arrival at the facility.

The news of his passing was confirmed by Mr. Kingsley Okuneggy, the Krachi East New Patriotic Party Communication Officer, on the party’s platform. Mr. Mensah, aged 60, had been appointed by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to succeed the late MCE, Francis Kofi Okesu, who passed away in September 2022.
Before he was appointed MCE, Mr. Mensah had served as the Constituency Chairman of the New Patriotic Party in the Krachi East Municipality, demonstrating his commitment to public service and community development.
A close source revealed to the Ghana News Agency that Mr. Mensah’s wife also collapsed upon hearing the tragic news and is currently receiving medical care at the same facility in WoraWora.
