Ghanaian musician Olivetheboy has opened up about the challenges he faced while pursuing his musical dreams alongside his academic endeavors, revealing a tense confrontation with his mother who initially opposed his musical pursuits.

In a candid revelation, Olivetheboy shared that his journey into music began at a young age, coinciding with the release of his debut record.
However, the joy of his musical achievement was overshadowed by his mother’s vehement disapproval.
Recalling the pivotal moment, Olivetheboy recounted, “When I dropped my first EP that had like six songs. The very first day I dropped it, I don’t know who told my mother but she called and questioned me on why I didn’t tell her about the launch of my song.”

He further elaborated on his mother’s reaction, revealing her intention to involve authorities due to his engagement in music without her knowledge.
“She knew I was only schooling, so she wanted to get me arrested. She was not happy with the fact that I was doing music while I was schooling,” Olivetheboy disclosed during an interview with Andy Dosty on Hitz FM.
Despite the initial resistance from his mother, Olivetheboy shared that he managed to navigate the situation with the help of supportive individuals who intervened on his behalf.
“We managed to control her after people talked to her about the situation,” he remarked, highlighting the importance of communication and understanding in resolving familial conflicts.
