Speaking in an online video, Kuti expressed his belief that African musicians are often guilty of disrespecting African women more than anyone else in the world.

Highlighting the issue, Kuti pointed out how some artists, including those of African descent living in America, tend to belittle African women in their songs.

He emphasized that these derogatory lyrics contribute to a negative perception of African women among listeners.

Born in 1983, Seun Kuti, the youngest son of the legendary Fela Kuti, has been immersed in music from a young age.

Throughout his career, Kuti has collaborated with various artists, including featuring on Calle 13’s track “Todo se mueve” and appearing on Jidenna’s album “85 to Africa.”

In recognition of his talent and influence, Kuti was invited to perform at Industry Nite in 2014 and featured in the Visual Collaborative electronic catalogue in 2019, where he discussed Pan-African awareness and his musical journey.
