Deputy Regional Police Commander Discovered Dead in Hotel Room

The Volta North Regional Police Command was thrown into mourning as news surfaced of the sudden and untimely demise of Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Antiri Nicolas Aletso.

ACP Aletso, the Deputy Regional Police Commander, was found dead in a hotel room in Hohoe on Wednesday, March 27, 2024.

According to reports from the deceased’s relatives, attempts to reach him via phone went unanswered, prompting concerns about his well-being.

Following their worries, a complaint was lodged with the Regional Police Command. Subsequently, a team led by ASP Simon Yevu, the staff officer, was dispatched to the Obama Hotel, where ACP Aletso had been staying in room number 4.

Upon entering the room, authorities discovered ACP Aletso lying lifeless in a lateral position, with the door unlocked. Immediate efforts were made to rush him to the Hohoe Municipal Hospital. Sadly, medical personnel at the hospital confirmed his passing upon arrival.

The circumstances surrounding ACP Aletso’s death remain unclear, prompting authorities to conduct an autopsy at the Police Hospital Mortuary in Accra. This procedure aims to determine the exact cause of his sudden demise.
