‘Love Nwantiti’ maintains its record as highest RIAA certified Nigerian song

“Love Nwantiti” by multi-platinum-selling artist Ckay continues to make waves as one of Afrobeats’ biggest exports. Originally released in 2019, this smash hit single gained global recognition in 2021, thanks to its viral success on TikTok.

Now, it has achieved an impressive feat: being certified RIAA 8 times platinum in the United States. It currently holds the record as the most certified Nigerian song in the United States.

The lead track from Ckay’s EP “CKay The First,” “Love Nwantiti” has left an indelible mark on the music scene.  “Love Nwantiti” climbed to No. 26 on the Billboard Hot 100 and garnered widespread acclaim.

Its journey began with a platinum certification in January 2022 after it went viral on TikTok, followed by a double platinum certification in September 2022.

It was declared 2X platinum in September 2022, and 4X platinum in January 2023. And now, as of March 27, 2024, it proudly wears its 8X platinum plaque.

This remarkable achievement positions “Love Nwantiti” to become Afrobeats’ first RIAA diamond song as it is now on the verge of reaching 10X platinum.
