Led by the Ministry of Works and Housing, this program seeks to offer new housing solutions to individuals whose homes were ravaged by the floods.

The National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) reports that over 5,200 households across 19 districts situated along the Volta River in the Volta, Eastern, Greater Accra, and Oti Regions bore the brunt of the devastating floods.

Speaking on the initiative, Minister of Works and Housing, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, outlined that the entire resettlement project is projected to span six months.

“The construction of the resettlement homes is going to take some months, and nothing less than about six months for us to make significant headway in this exercise,” he remarked.

He also emphasized the need for patience from all stakeholders as the project progresses. “We are already starting about a hundred, and our final validation will give us the backlog numbers,” he added.
