The National Association of Graduate Teachers (NAGRAT), the Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT), and the Coalition of Concerned Teachers Ghana have collectively affirmed their resolve not to resume teaching until their concerns are adequately addressed. These concerns include issues related to teachers’ conditions of service.
Today, the teachers are scheduled to engage in discussions with the Ministry of Employment and Labour Relations in hopes of finding a resolution to their grievances.

Jacob Anaba, the Vice President of NAGRAT, emphasized that while the teachers are committed to making up for lost time through hard work, they will only return to the classrooms once a clear memorandum of understanding outlining a roadmap to address their demands is reached.
The nationwide strike, which commenced on Wednesday, March 20, 2024, was prompted by the Ministry of Education and the Ghana Education Service’s failure to promptly address the teachers’ conditions of service.
Amidst the ongoing strike action, there have been developments in the educational sector. Over 500 public senior high schools are set to benefit from the Ghana Smart School project, which aims to equip students with iPads.
