The former WBC interim heavyweight champion, fighting for the first time since being cleared of doping allegations, showcased his dominance against Hammer in Castlebar, County Mayo.

In a commanding performance, Whyte’s strength proved overwhelming for his Romanian-born opponent.

Hammer, unable to continue after the third round, conceded defeat when he failed to rise from his stool, prompting the referee to halt the bout and declare Whyte the winner, securing his 30th professional victory.

The 35-year-old British boxer had been absent from the ring since his triumph over Jermaine Franklin at Wembley in November 2022

Initially slated to face Anthony Joshua last August, Whyte’s comeback was delayed due to a positive test for a banned substance.

However, following an investigation that confirmed his consumption of a contaminated supplement, Whyte was vindicated and granted clearance to resume his career.

With this resounding victory, Whyte reaffirms his presence in the heavyweight division and sets the stage for his continued pursuit of boxing glory. As he embarks on this new chapter in his career, Whyte remains determined to make his mark and cement his status as one of the sport’s elite competitors.
