Kanye West Claims Adidas Stole His Designs Amid Contract Dispute

Kanye West, born Kanye Omari West on June 8, 1977, is a prominent American rapper, record producer, singer, songwriter, and fashion designer. He has achieved significant success in the music industry with numerous accolades, including 24 Grammy Awards.

Kanye West, also known as Ye, signed a deal with Adidas in November 2013. This partnership was instrumental in Adidas’ resurgence in the sportswear market, as it helped the brand gain popularity and increased sales.

However, in August 2023, Ye had a problem with Adidas. He accused Adidas of his lack of control over his brand’s partnership with them. He criticized Adidas for designing Yeezy products without his involvement, leading to a series of Instagram posts targeting the brand’s managers.

This conflict escalated further when Ye accused Adidas of plagiarizing his designs, offering him a $1 billion buyout, and making decisions without his approval. The dispute intensified with Ye seeking a shoe company that would give him more control over the creative process.
