The Chicago Bears have bolstered their backfield with the acquisition of Pro Bowl running back D’Andre Swift, reaching a three-year agreement, according to a source familiar with the deal who spoke to The Associated Press on Monday.

The deal, reportedly valued at $24 million, includes $15.3 million guaranteed. Swift, 25, had a standout season in 2023, achieving career highs with 1,049 rushing yards and five touchdowns, earning him his first Pro Bowl selection.
Originally drafted by the Detroit Lions, Swift was traded to the Philadelphia Eagles last year. In his career thus far, he has amassed 2,729 rushing yards and 23 touchdowns on 593 carries, along with 1,412 receiving yards and eight receiving touchdowns on 195 receptions.
Swift joins Khalil Herbert and Roschon Johnson in Chicago’s backfield, adding depth and talent to the Bears’ offensive lineup.

The Bears have been active in the offseason, securing key players to strengthen their roster. They recently inked Pro Bowl cornerback Jaylon Johnson to a four-year, $76 million extension with $54.4 million guaranteed. Additionally, the team signed veteran safety Kevin Byard to a two-year deal.
Coming off a 7-10 season, the Bears are looking to make significant strides in the upcoming season. With the No. 1 and No. 9 overall picks in the upcoming draft, Chicago aims to further bolster its roster and contend for success in the league.
