As the curtains closed on the 96th Academy Awards on Sunday, Mach 10 2024, Bradley Cooper found himself once again among the ranks of Hollywood’s most-nominated artists without a coveted Oscar win.

Despite his illustrious career and numerous nominations, the 49-year-old multi-talented star left Sunday night’s ceremony without any awards to add to his mantle.

Cooper’s latest film, “Maestro,” which he wrote, produced, and starred in, failed to secure any of the three Oscars it was nominated for, including Best Picture.

This outcome marked a significant milestone in Cooper’s career, as he now holds the distinction of losing a near-record 12 career nominations without a single win.

Nevertheless, Cooper’s journey at the Oscars has been nothing short of remarkable. Since his breakout performance in “Silver Linings Playbook” over a decade ago, he has consistently received recognition from the Academy for his diverse talents.

Notably, Cooper has earned nominations in seven different films and five separate categories since 2013.

His acting prowess has earned him five nominations for Best Actor, with standout performances in films like “American Sniper,” “A Star Is Born,” and “Maestro.” Additionally, his supporting role in “American Hustle” garnered him acclaim from the Academy in 2014.

Beyond acting, Cooper has made his mark as a producer, with five Best Picture nominations to his credit. These include acclaimed projects such as “American Sniper,” “A Star Is Born,” “Nightmare Alley,” and “Maestro,” as well as the blockbuster hit “Joker.”

Cooper’s talents extend to screenwriting as well, with nominations for both Original Screenplay (for “Maestro” in 2024) and Adapted Screenplay (for “A Star Is Born” in 2019), showcasing his versatility as a storyteller.

While Cooper’s dozen nominations without a win are certainly notable, he is not alone in this distinction. Sound mixer Greg P. Russell holds the record with 16 nominations in Sound, followed closely by acclaimed songwriter Diane Warren, who has received 15 nominations. Even legendary actress Glenn Close, with eight nominations to her name, has yet to secure an Oscar win.
