Since the late MP’s death, there have been numerous allegations that he was poisoned.

The family of the deceased has voiced concern over the situation and has begged friends of the late MP to refrain from spreading unproven accusations until an official autopsy report is issued.

MP for Kumawu, Ernest Yaw Anim, who is also a member of John Kumah’s family said: “Speculations here and there, but as it stands now, the family has no position. We will wait until the autopsy report is ready and we will know what led to death of our dear brother. So, for now what I can say is that let us ignore everything in the air and wait until the family itself comes out and communicate as to the cause of death.

People can speculate but, then we shouldn’t forget that he is from a family. The family is grieving. So, if you go out there and say all manner of things, consider the family internet first, put the wife, put the children put the father just take yourself…that if you are the mother is that how you would want people to go about spreading rumours about the death of your son?”

Videos of prominent broadcasters claiming Dr. John Kumah was poisoned have gone viral. This has fueled the speculation.

In one of the videos viewed by 3news.com, the presenter who works at Wontumi FM stated:“Somebody brought a roasted Guinea fowl and later diehuo to Chairman Wontumi and John Kumah to eat and that was when the issue started…the medical team of the Vice President suspected food poisoning and treated them. John Kumah has not looked okay since the incident, this is why I think John Kumah was killed.”
