According to an interview with Investor’s Business Daily, Burgess disliked traveling “in art circles with collectors and high society,” so she pursued a different job after college.

Janice Burgess Cause of Death
Burgess died on March 2, 2024, just one day after her 72nd birthday, while receiving hospice care in Manhattan after being diagnosed with cancer.
She was 72. Her death was confirmed by Brown Johnson, a longtime friend and the creator of Nick Jr., who said the cause was breast cancer.
