Popular actor Eddie Driscoll, known for his roles in TV shows like Mad Men and Entourage, has passed away at the age of 60.

He died on December 15 in Los Angeles because of a saddle pulmonary embolism after fighting stomach cancer for months, according to his lifelong friend Jimmy Palumbo who spoke to PEOPLE magazine. Entertainment Weekly has asked Driscoll’s representatives for confirmation.
Palumbo, who is also an actor, described Driscoll as very talented. He could sing, dance, act, and do comedy. Driscoll was always busy with work and everyone who worked with him admired him.

Born in New York, Driscoll studied acting at the University of Miami. He also trained at the Burt Reynolds Institute for Film & Theatre where he learned from great comic actors like Charles Nelson Reilly, Carol Burnett, Dom DeLuise, and Reynolds himself.

His career started with roles alongside Reynolds in shows like Physical Evidence, Breaking In, B.L. Stryker, and Evening Shade.
Later on, he had a regular role in TNT’s series The Last Ship and played Angelo “Gyp” DeCarlo in a production of Jersey Boys. He appeared in various movies and TV series including Sex and the City, Boston Public, This Is Us, The King of Queens, 24, Heroes, Days of Our Lives, CSI: Miami, CSI NY, among others.
Driscoll was also well-known as a host at the karaoke bars Dimples and Fox Fire Room. A celebration of his life took place in January, according to Palumbo, where people from different parts of the entertainment industry gathered to remember him.
