Elden Ring, the latest action RPG from FromSoftware, is known for its diverse range of enemies that players encounter throughout their journey in the Lands Between. Among these, some enemies are more frequently encountered than others.

One of the most common enemies in Elden Ring is the Putrid Corpse. These reanimated dead are often found roaming in large groups like a horde of zombies. There are varying types of Putrid Corpses as they adapt to fit their surroundings. Some are noxious from polluted bodies of water, while others are full of Scarlet Rot, each type having a different effect on the player.

Although most of them tend not to be lethal, fighting them in large groups can be tedious, especially the hazardous Blistered Putrid Corpses and Rotten Putrid Corpses that cause status effects.

Another common enemy type in Elden Ring is the Fanged Imp. These creatures are found sneaking about in almost every catacomb and usually hunt in packs, making them consistently annoying throughout the game. Their attacks even pack an extra punch by causing bleed damage.

Fanged Imps can also seem to be camouflaging themselves, ready to ambush an unsuspecting or new Elden Ring player. While outside of melee range, these creatures use grenades and fling daggers at their target with surprising accuracy. In addition, they have immunity to all debuffs, something to be aware of when initiating combat.

It’s important to note that the frequency of encountering these enemies can vary depending on the player’s location within the game world and their progression through the game’s storyline. As players explore new areas and advance further into the game, they may encounter different types of enemies more frequently.
