Born and raised in Ontario on the family farm nestled between Dresden and Chatham, T. J. Brodie was instilled with a strong work ethic and a passion for hockey from a young age.
His father, Jay Brodie, himself a former hockey player, played an instrumental role in nurturing T. J.’s love for the game.
As T. J.’s biggest fan, Jay’s encouragement and guidance helped shape his son into the formidable player he is today.
Equally important in T. J.’s journey was the unwavering support of his mother, Lynn Brodie.
A devoted stay-at-home mom, Lynn was always there for T. J., providing love, encouragement, and a shoulder to lean on through the highs and lows of his career.
Her steadfast presence and unwavering support were a source of strength for T. J. as he pursued his dreams on the ice.

Tragically, the Brodie family faced a heartbreaking loss in 2022 with the passing of Jay Brodie after a courageous battle with cancer.
Jay’s legacy lives on in the memories he shared with his family and the impact he made in the Southwestern Ontario community’s Sports Hall of Fame and the Chatham Sports Hall of Fame.
In addition to honoring his father’s memory, T. J. Brodie is also dedicated to making a difference in the lives of others, inspired by his cousin Ian Badder’s battle with cystic fibrosis.
T. J. has actively supported fundraising efforts for Cystic Fibrosis Canada, participating in events like the Catwalk for a Cure fashion show and launching initiatives like T. J. Brodie: Skate in Strides for Cystic Fibrosis.
As T. J. Brodie continues to excel on the ice, his parents’ love and support remain a guiding force in his life, reminding him of the values of hard work, perseverance, and compassion that have shaped his journey both on and off the rink.
