Phylicia Rashad, renowned for her roles in television and theater, has had a journey marked by three marriages, all culminating in divorce.

Her first venture into matrimony was with dentist William Lancelot Bowles Jr. in 1972. Their union brought forth a son; however, it dissolved three years later in 1975.
Following this, in 1978, she tied the knot with Victor Willis, famed as the original frontman of the Village People. Their paths crossed amidst the production of “The Wiz” on Broadway. Yet, this partnership also met its end, leading to divorce in 1982.

Her third and most enduring marriage was with sportscaster Ahmad Rashad, commencing in 1985. Together, they welcomed a daughter and traversed 16 years before parting ways in 2001.
While the intricacies behind each separation remain undisclosed, Phylicia has candidly expressed her disillusionment with the institution of marriage. In an interview with Oprah Winfrey, she revealed, “I don’t feel I’ve ever been married once.”
Presently, Phylicia navigates life without a spouse, devoting her energy to her thriving career and nurturing her family bonds.
