The People’s Choice Awards was an original idea of Bob Stivers. But now, they’re managed by Den of Thieves Production, a group led by Jesse Ignjatovic, Evan Prager, and Barb Bialkowski.

The awards which started in 1975, are a bit different from other awards.

They don’t rely on experts in the industry to decide who wins. Instead, it’s the fans who get to choose their favorites. This makes the awards special because they truly reflect what people like.

The latest awards happened on February 18, 2024. They were hosted by Simu Liu and shown on NBC, E!, and Peacock. Fans got to vote for winners in 40 categories. Some big winners included “Grey’s Anatomy,” Jennifer Aniston, Billie Eilish, and “Barbie.”

These awards are important because they show what’s popular with audiences. By celebrating fan favorites, they give people a glimpse into what people enjoy watching, listening to, and talking about.

So, they’re not just about giving out trophies – they also tell people a lot about the trends and tastes of the moment.
