In terms of size and capacity, the EC130 boasts a broader fuselage, comfortably accommodating 6-7 individuals, including the pilot. Conversely, the EC120 offers a more compact cabin, suitable for 4-5 occupants, including the pilot.

Performance-wise, the EC130 shines with its robust engine, enabling higher cruise speeds, greater payload capabilities, and excellent performance in hot and high conditions.

On the other hand, the EC120, powered by a less potent engine, excels in cost-effectiveness, with lower operational expenses and fuel consumption.

Visually, the EC130 flaunts larger front windows and a distinctive lower square window, while the EC120 features smaller front windows and a tilted exhaust outlet. These differences extend to their vertical stabilizers and ventral fins.

Regarding application, the EC130 finds its niche in tourism, corporate transport, VIP travel, and law enforcement, while the EC120 is preferred for training, private ownership, light utility tasks, and news gathering.

Cost considerations also play a crucial role. The EC130 tends to be pricier both in acquisition and operation due to its larger size and enhanced performance, whereas the EC120 presents a more economical option.
