Black Pumas is an American psychedelic soul band founded in Austin, Texas, by singer/songwriter Eric Burton and guitarist/producer Adrian Quesada. In 2020, the ensemble won its first Grammy nomination for Best New Artist.

The duo’s debut album, Black Pumas, was released on June 21, 2019. They performed at South by Southwest in 2019 and won Best New Band at the 2019 Austin Music Awards.
The 20th Annual Americana Honors & Awards honored Black Pumas as Duo/Group of the Year in September 2021. On November 23, 2021, Black Pumas received two Grammy Award nominations at the 64th Annual Grammy Awards.

What happened with Black Pumas?
By the time this story goes to press, Black Pumas will have rolled out their hotly anticipated second album with midnight sales and autograph lines at record shops, national TV appearances, and their first shows after 15 months away from the stage – following an abrupt and mysterious announcement in August of 2022 that the band was canceling all future performances and pausing touring.
