Ambika Bhakti Mod is a British actress, comedian, and author. She is most known for her performance as Shruti Acharya in the BBC drama This Is Going to Hurt.

Mod found acting and sketch comedy at Durham University’s Revue, where he performed at the 2015 Edinburgh Fringe Festival and served as President in 2017. She also performs improv comedy at The Free Association in London.

Mod established a duo with Andrew Shires called Megan from HR. She is a regular performer at London’s improvised comedy theatre The Free Association.

Early in her career, she worked as a personal assistant for Condé Nast during the day and performed comedy at night.

Where is Ambika Mod from?

The English actress and comedian was born and raised in Potters Bar, Hertfordshire. Her full name is Ambika Bhakti Mod, and her parents are both Indian immigrants. Ambika Mod’s mother arrived in the UK as a kid, while her dad moved to the country when he was in his 20s.

As a young girl, Ambika was enrolled at Dame Alice Owen’s School and completed her high school studies there. Then Mod attended St. Mary’s College, Durham, and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Studies.
