Emily Jordan Bear is an American composer, pianist, songwriter, and singer. After beginning to play the piano and compose music as a small child, Bear made her professional piano debut at the Ravinia Festival at the age of five, the youngest performer ever to play there.

To say that Emily Bear was a child prodigy is something of an understatement. De-classifying music, she transcends genres in jazz, classical, pop, scoring for media, and musical theater. At age 21, she is a chart-topping Grammy and Emmy award-winning composer, producer, arranger, pianist and singer-songwriter.

A piano prodigy from Rockford, Ill., who was featured on WGN News at 6 years old, is composing songs for Disney’s “Moana 2.” Emily Bear announced Wednesday that she and fellow Grammy winner Abigail Barlow have written all the new songs for the upcoming animated film.
Bear went on to win a Grammy Award in 2022 for Best Musical Theater Album, honoring her work on “The Unofficial Bridgerton Musical”, which she co-wrote with Abigail Barlow.
