Weathers, an alumnus of San Diego State University, not only excelled in academics, pursuing a degree in theatre arts but also left an indelible mark on the football field.
He played a pivotal role in leading the Aztecs to victory in the 1969 Pasadena Bowl. Despite his love for the arts, Weathers took a detour into professional football, signing with the Oakland Raiders as a free agent in 1970.

Transitioning from the football arena to the cinematic stage, Weathers ventured into acting with small roles in Arthur Marks’ blaxploitation films such as “Bucktown” and “Friday Foster.”
