In 1969, Sirhan Sirhan was convicted of first-degree murder and assault with intent to commit murder for his role in the tragic event at the Ambassador Hotel in Los Angeles.

Sirhan Sirhan was initially sentenced to death, but in 1972, California abolished the death penalty, leading to a commutation of his sentence to life in prison. Sirhan Sirhan has since been behind bars till date.
