According to some sources, Neuralink has faced federal investigation for potential animal welfare violations and has killed about 1,500 animals following experiments since 2018.

However, the company has denied these accusations and claimed that it is committed to working with animals most humanely and ethically possible . Neuralink has also shown some videos of monkeys playing video games with its implants.
