Laura Ann Branigan, the renowned American singer, shared a significant chapter of her life with her husband, Larry Kruteck.

Their love story began on St. Patrick’s Day, March 17, 1978, at a party in Manhattan. After nearly nine months of dating, Laura and Larry sealed their commitment in marriage on December 8, 1978.

Larry Ross Kruteck, an attorney, became Laura’s life partner, and their union was marked by love and companionship. Unfortunately, their journey together faced a heartbreaking turn when Larry succumbed to colon cancer on June 15, 1996. His passing left a void in Laura’s life, and she mourned the loss of her beloved husband.

Despite the challenges and personal losses, Laura Branigan continued to pursue her passion for music. While she experienced a period of reduced prominence in the late 1980s, she made a remarkable return to the public eye in the early 2000s. Notably, she portrayed Janis Joplin in the off-Broadway musical “Love, Janis.”

Tragically, as Laura was recording new music and gearing up for a comeback in the music industry, she passed away at her home in August 2004. The cause of her untimely death was attributed to a previously undiagnosed cerebral aneurysm.
