James Laurinaitis is currently serving as the assistant linebackers coach for Ohio State, a position he has held since 2023.

James began his football career at Wayzata High School.

His exceptional talent and dedication earned him a spot with the Ohio State Buckeyes, where he continued to excel as a collegiate player.

The pinnacle of Laurinaitis’ playing career came in the 2009 NFL Draft, where he was selected by the St. Louis Rams in the second round with the 35th overall pick.

After a successful seven seasons with the Rams, Laurinaitis went on to play one season for the New Orleans Saints before retiring on April 11, 2017

Following his retirement from professional football, James Laurinaitis seamlessly transitioned into the coaching realm. In 2022, he embarked on his coaching journey as a graduate assistant and assistant linebacker coach for the University of Notre Dame.

The coaching profession proved to be a natural fit for Laurinaitis, and it wasn’t long before he received an opportunity to return to familiar territory. In 2023, James Laurinaitis took on the role of assistant linebackers coach for the Ohio State Buckeyes, his alma mater.
