On July 18, 2017, Red West sadly passed away at the age of 81. His death was a result of an aortic aneurysm, a condition characterized by a weakening or bulge in the main artery from the heart.

Earlier that day, he felt the agony and was rushed to Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee, where, despite efforts, he succumbed to the ailment.

This sorrowful event came just two months after the passing of his cousin, actor Sonny West. On July 24th, Red West was laid to rest in Memphis, marking the end of his journey on earth.
