Hrithik Roshan Parents: Meet Rakesh Roshan, Pinky Roshan

Hrithik Roshan, the Greek God of Bollywood, hails from the illustrious Roshan family, a name synonymous with the rich history of Hindi cinema.

Born on January 10, 1974, in Bombay, Hrithik is the son of renowned film director Rakesh Roshan and Pinkie Roshan.

Rakesh Roshan, Hrithik’s father, is not just a celebrated director but also the son of the legendary music director Roshanlal Nagrath.

The cinematic legacy continues with Hrithik’s mother, Pinkie Roshan, who is the daughter of producer and director J. Om Prakash. Adding to the family’s musical prowess, Hrithik’s uncle, Rajesh, is a distinguished music composer.

Hrithik, the second-generation actor, grew up in the cinematic ambiance of the Roshan household, surrounded by the magic of Indian cinema. His older sister, Sunaina, shared the journey through their formative years in the Bombay Scottish School.

The inception of Hrithik’s on-screen presence was marked at the tender age of six when his grandfather, Prakash, featured him in the film “Aasha” (1980).

His initial venture saw him dance in a song alongside Jeetendra, earning him ₹100 for his spirited performance. Uncredited appearances in family film projects, including his father’s production “Aap Ke Deewane” (1980), further paved the way for Hrithik’s eventual entry into Bollywood.

As he treaded the path of education, Hrithik attended Sydenham College, where he actively participated in dance and music festivals while pursuing his commerce degree.

Despite being part of a star-studded family, Hrithik didn’t shy away from the nuances of filmmaking. He assisted his father in four films, including “Khudgarz” (1987), “King Uncle” (1993), “Karan Arjun” (1995), and “Koyla” (1997).

His contributions extended beyond assisting, as he engaged in tasks like sweeping the floor and making tea for the crew.

During these formative years, Hrithik’s dedication to his craft became evident. After the day’s shoot, he would meticulously enact Shah Rukh Khan’s scenes from “Koyla” and evaluate his performance as an actor by filming himself. This commitment reflected his desire to master the art of acting.
