In this gripping tale, Kelly Rowland assumes the role of Mea Harper, a criminal defense attorney thrust into the challenge of defending Zyair Malloy (played by Trevante Rhodes), an artist accused of murdering his girlfriend. However, uncovering the truth behind the alleged crime proves to be far from straightforward. A tension-filled moment in the trailer features one character expressing, “If he is not lying, he is a psychopath,” highlighting the ambiguity surrounding Zyair. Another character adds a layer of mystery, cautioning Mea with, “You have no idea who he is. A snake is never violent when stalking their prey; it’s only when they get into striking distance that they get very violent.”

Alongside Rhodes and Rowland, the cast of “Mea Culpa” includes RonReaco Lee (known for “Sister, Sister”), Angela Robinson (“The Have And The Have Nots”), and Shannon Thornton (“P-Valley”). Tyler Perry, under his first-look deal with Netflix, serves as the writer, director, and producer of this suspenseful thriller, promising audiences a captivating exploration of guilt, innocence, and the perilous nature of unraveling hidden truths.
