Is Damon Albarn still in Gorillaz?

Yes, Damon Albarn is still a member of the virtual band Gorillaz. He is the co-creator and primary musical contributor of the band. Gorillaz was formed in 1998 by Albarn and artist Jamie Hewlett.

The band primarily consists of four fictional members: 2-D (vocals, keyboards), Murdoc Niccals (bass guitar), Noodle (guitar, keyboards, vocals), and Russel Hobbs (drums). Gorillaz has released several successful albums and continues to tour.

Damon Albarn studied acting at the East 15 Acting School in Debden and enrolled in a part-time music course at London’s Goldsmiths College in 1988. Damon Albarn co-founded the non-profit musical organization Africa Express.

Albarn also scored the stage productions Monkey: Journey to the West (2008), and Wonder.land (2016). Damon Albarn’s debut solo album, Everyday Robots, was released in 2014, followed by The Nearer the Fountain, More Pure the Stream Flows in 2021.

Damon Albarn was appointed Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) in the 2016 New Year Honours for services to music. Albarn released Mali Music in 2002 and an EP, Democrazy in 2003.
