In a devastating turn of events, the basketball world mourns the sudden and tragic loss of Golden State Warriors assistant coach, Dejan Milojevic, who passed away at the age of 46. Milojevic suffered a fatal heart attack during a private team dinner, leaving the Warriors organization and the broader NBA community in shock and sorrow.

The Warriors announced Milojevic’s passing on Wednesday morning in Salt Lake City, where he had been hospitalized the previous night. The NBA, in response to the heartbreaking news, postponed the Warriors’ scheduled game against the Utah Jazz.

Dejan Milojevic joined the Warriors coaching staff in 2021, quickly becoming a well-regarded and popular figure in both the NBA and international basketball circles. His primary role with the team involved working with the forwards and centers, contributing significantly to the development and success of the players under his guidance.
Milojevic’s coaching journey included leading Buducnost to a pro league title and a national cup in Montenegro and securing the national cup of Serbia. His impact extended beyond borders, as he coached Mega in the Serbian league and played a pivotal role in the early development of two-time NBA MVP Nikola Jokic of the Denver Nuggets.
As a player, Milojevic, standing at 6-foot-7 and weighing 250 pounds, left an indelible mark on the court. A three-time Adriatic Basketball Association MVP, he led the league in scoring twice. His playing career also included notable achievements such as winning a Yugoslav Cup and the EuroBasket title in 2001.
