Joyce Randolph, renowned for her iconic portrayal of Trixie Norton in the beloved classic sitcom “The Honeymooners,” has passed away at the age of 99, as confirmed by her son in a statement to the media on Sunday.

Her son, Randolph Charles, shared the news that Joyce Randolph departed on Saturday evening. The Broadway and television actress played a significant role in the 1950s sitcom, which humorously depicted the adventures of New York City bus driver Ralph Kramden, portrayed by Jackie Gleason, and his wife Alice, played by Audrey Meadows.

In “The Honeymooners,” Randolph brought the character of Trixie to life, the wife of Ralph’s closest friend, Ed Norton, portrayed by Art Carney. With her passing, she became the last surviving member of the original cast.

Originally featured as a recurring sketch on Gleason’s live variety TV show, “The Honeymooners” transitioned to filmed productions on CBS in 1955. Despite a relatively short run of 39 episodes, the characters continued to captivate audiences, making a return in Gleason’s ’60s variety show, extending its presence on American television screens until 1970 and persisting in syndication to this day.

In 1955, Joyce Randolph married businessman Richard Lincoln Charles, who passed away in 1997 at the age of 74. She is survived by her son, Randolph Charles.
