At the age of 99, Joyce Randolph, renowned for her role as Trixie Norton on the TV show “The Honeymooners,” has passed away.

Her son, Randy, informed TMZ on Sunday that the actress peacefully departed in her sleep at her New York City residence on Saturday. Joyce, the last surviving member of the main cast, had been in hospice care, grappling with the effects of old age.

Joyce played a pivotal role in the popular sitcom “The Honeymooners,” which aired from 1955 to 1956. The show revolved around the character of Ralph Kramden, portrayed by Jackie Gleason, a brash New York City bus driver known for his frequent outbursts at his wife Alice, played by Audrey Meadows. Despite the comedic confrontations, Ralph had an optimistic side.

The characters lived in a Brooklyn apartment building, close neighbors to Trixie and her husband, Ed Norton, portrayed by comedian Art Carney.
Born in 1924 in Detroit, Michigan, Joyce embarked on her entertainment career in the early 1940s, starting with the play “Stage Door.” In 1943, she moved to New York City to pursue her acting aspirations. Her early career included stage work and TV commercials, with a Clorets chewing gum commercial catching the eye of Jackie Gleason. This led to her inclusion in his variety show, “Cavalcade Of Stars,” solidifying their friendship and ultimately securing her a role in “The Honeymooners.”
“The Honeymooners” achieved iconic status as an American classic, depicting the struggles of everyday people trying to make ends meet in New York. The show became known for memorable lines, such as Jackie’s famous retort to his wife, “To the moon!” and his frequent expressions like “Hardy har har” and “Baby, you’re the greatest.”
