In the iconic series, Joyce played the role of Ed Norton’s wife, portrayed by Art Carney. The characters, along with Ralph Kramden (Jackie Gleason) and the enduring Alice (Audrey Meadows), formed a close-knit group of friends and neighbors. Ralph, a bus driver, was known for his occasional fits of anger directed at his wife, punctuated by the famous line, “To the moon, Alice,” a phrase unlikely to make it onto television screens today.

Despite having produced only 39 episodes, “The Honeymooners” is hailed as one of the greatest comedies in television history. The show premiered on CBS in 1955, enjoying significant success as the second-ranked program in its debut season. However, it experienced a decline in subsequent seasons, leading to its cancellation after the first year.
Joyce secured her role in the series after being noticed by Jackie Gleason during a chewing gum commercial. While there were later reboots and projects featuring characters from the show, the original remains etched in people’s memories.
With Joyce Randolph’s passing, she becomes the last surviving member of the main cast. She is survived by her son, Randy, who has announced that his mother will be cremated. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations to be directed to the Entertainment Community Fund.
