Quaker Oats has recently recalled two dozen more products due to potential salmonella contamination. The recall includes various types of cereal, granola, protein bars, and select flavors of instant oatmeal.

This is in addition to the 60+ products that were recalled in December 2023. Salmonella is a type of bacteria that can cause food poisoning. Symptoms of salmonella infection include diarrhea, fever, and abdominal cramps, which typically last for 4-7 days.

In some cases, the infection can be severe and require hospitalization. Children under the age of 5, adults over the age of 65, and people with weakened immune systems are at a higher risk of developing severe symptoms.

Quaker Oats is a brand of oatmeal that has been around for over 140 years. The Quaker Oats Company is an American food conglomerate based in Chicago, Illinois, and founded in 1877 in Ravenna, Ohio by the Quaker Mill Company.
